McKenzie’s Bi-Carb is a fine white powder derived from soda ash (or sodium carbonate). It is known under different household names such as Baking Soda, Sodium Bi-Carb or Bi-Carbonate Soda.
Just as it does in its natural form, McKenzie’s Bi-Carb Soda releases carbon dioxide when in contact with an acid. It is therefore commonly used as a raising agent in baking. Bi-Carb Soda also helps regulate pH and preforms brilliantly as a neutralising cleaner and deodoriser.
